Enphase Solar and Battery Installation in Vancouver and the North Shore

Bourne Electric designs and installs Enphase solar and battery systems across West Vancouver, the North Shore and Greater Vancouver: IQ8 microinverters under every panel and IQ Battery 5P home storage, monitored together in the Enphase App.

We’re a member of the Enphase Installer Network and a licensed electrical contractor (Technical Safety BC Licence LEL0101560), and our electricians are all Red Seal.

IQ8 Microinverters

Enphase puts a microinverter under each solar panel instead of one large inverter for the whole roof. If a tree or chimney shades one panel, the rest keep producing.

The Enphase App shows what every panel is producing, so a problem with one panel is easy to spot. We install solar with professional roofers.

IQ Battery 5P

The IQ Battery 5P stores 5 kWh, and batteries stack, so a system can be sized from 5 kWh up to 80 kWh. It charges from your solar panels and, with an Enphase IQ System Controller, powers your home through an outage.

Solar and Battery Together

Enphase solar and IQ Batteries are designed as one system and monitored in one app. Your panels power the home first, charge the batteries, and send any extra to the BC Hydro grid.

Enphase or Tesla Powerwall?

Tesla Powerwall 3 is one large battery with a built-in solar inverter. Enphase splits the job into a microinverter under each panel and stackable 5 kWh batteries. We install both, along with EG4 systems, and will recommend the one that suits your roof and how much backup you want.

How an Enphase Project Runs

  1. Walkthrough. We look at your roof, any shading, your electrical panel and how you use power.

  2. Design. You get a panel layout and a system design, with the number of IQ Batteries sized to the backup you want.

  3. Permits. We handle the electrical permit with your local authority.

  4. Installation. Licensed electricians install and wire the system, working with professional roofers on the panels.

  5. Monitoring. We set up the Enphase App so you can see every panel and battery from your phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are You an Enphase Installer?

Yes. Bourne Electric Ltd. is a member of the Enphase Installer Network and a licensed electrical contractor (Technical Safety BC Licence LEL0101560).

What Is a Microinverter?

A small inverter under each solar panel that turns that panel’s power into household electricity, so each panel works independently.

How Much Does an IQ Battery 5P Store?

5 kWh per battery. Batteries stack, so a system can be sized from 5 kWh up to 80 kWh.

Can an Enphase Battery Power My Home in an Outage?

Yes, when it’s installed with an Enphase IQ System Controller, which separates your home from the grid during an outage.

Should I Choose Enphase or Tesla Powerwall?

Powerwall 3 is one large battery with a built-in solar inverter. Enphase uses a microinverter under each panel and stackable 5 kWh batteries. We install both and will recommend the right fit.

Where Do You Install Enphase?

Across Greater Vancouver — including North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, Richmond, Burnaby and White Rock — and the Southern Gulf Islands: Salt Spring, Galiano, Mayne, Pender and Saturna.
